SmartCommunitiesTech Cluster
The Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities is a national association with over 150 partners (from the industrial, research and public administration worlds) that collaborates in the development of innovation projects for the management of urban and metropolitan areas.
Established in 2012 by the Italian University, Research and Innovation Ministry (MIUR) as part of the national specialization strategy, the Cluster in 2017 is further recognized by the Ministry as a coordinator of industrial research policies at national and local level and for the development of territorial competitiveness.

Funded by the Interreg ALCOTRA 2021–2027 programme, DigiVillae supports small alpine and rural municipalities in their digital and sustainable transition, drawing on the European Smart Villages approach.
SMARCO Project launches Smart City Skills Pilots Across Europe
The SMARCO Project - SMARt COmmunities Skills Development in Europe - announces the official launch of its first piloting phase: the pilot phase offers a curriculum specifically designed to support EU’s green and digital transitions.
Partnerships for Horizon Europe: Call4Ideas now open
The new edition of Partnerships for Horizon Europe (P4HEU), the international event dedicated to building project partnerships for participation in Horizon Europe calls, will take place online on 29 September and 6 October. Call 4 ideas starting from May 18.
PowerUp NetZero Open Calls
The PowerUp NetZero project supports SMEs across Europe through Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP), offering direct funding to develop innovation activities and adopt net-zero technologies to innovate and improve sustainability and digitalisation.

Networking
We organise and promote networking and clustering activities, involving Italian industrial and academic partners, public administrations and European clusters to generate new partnerships, build relationships and develop collaborations and projects.
Promotion and Communication
We give visibility to our network of SmartCommunities innovators and disseminate activities and projects' results towards institutional, research and industrial actors as well as citizens and communities.
Support for R&I
We facilitate the match between Industry and Research to activate collaborations and partnerships at a national and international level, and support our members in the development and participation in innovation projects.
Advisory
We meet and interview companies, OR and Cities, to map the SmartCommunities ecosystem competences, development interests and needs. Each year, we publish the Research and Innovation Roadmap for SmartCommunities, involving the Cluster members and interested stakeholders.
