SmartCommunitiesTech Cluster
The Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities is a national association with over 150 partners (from the industrial, research and public administration worlds) that collaborates in the development of innovation projects for the management of urban and metropolitan areas.
Established in 2012 by the Italian University, Research and Innovation Ministry (MIUR) as part of the national specialization strategy, the Cluster in 2017 is further recognized by the Ministry as a coordinator of industrial research policies at national and local level and for the development of territorial competitiveness.

EIT Community Hub Italy launch event – Bologna, 18 february
EIT Community Hub Italy launch event on Tuesday 18 February 2025 at Tecnopolo Manifattura, Bologna. This event marks the launch of the EIT Community Hub Italy, an initiative aimed at connecting companies, startups, universities and Institutions with the cutting-edge resources, expertise and funding opportunities of the EIT Community.

Call4Testing ToMove4Future – Applications deadline on March 26
The Italian City of Turin has launched a new call for testing of the ToMove project, funded by the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers under the National Plan Complementary to the PNRR. Applications will close at 12:00 (Italian local time) on March 26, 2025.

The SmartCommunitiesTech cluster is organising with a network of european clusters the "Partnerships for Horizon Europe: smart cities & communities projects" event, which will be held online on 7th, 9th and 11st May. Submit your ideas: deadline 15th April 2025.

Networking
We organise and promote networking and clustering activities, involving Italian industrial and academic partners, public administrations and European clusters to generate new partnerships, build relationships and develop collaborations and projects.
Promotion and Communication
We give visibility to our network of SmartCommunities innovators and disseminate activities and projects' results towards institutional, research and industrial actors as well as citizens and communities.
Support for R&I
We facilitate the match between Industry and Research to activate collaborations and partnerships at a national and international level, and support our members in the development and participation in innovation projects.
Advisory
We meet and interview companies, OR and Cities, to map the SmartCommunities ecosystem competences, development interests and needs. Each year, we publish the Research and Innovation Roadmap for SmartCommunities, involving the Cluster members and interested stakeholders.
