SmartCommunities Conference 2022: proceedings

The SmartCommunities Conference took place online on Friday 10 June from 9 to 17: 39 speakers, over 350 online participants, 7 cities involved, 22 projects presented on three macro-themes: intelligent and collaborative mobility, government and data economy, physical and digital security .
“Our annual conference confirms itself as an opportunity for direct confrontation between companies, research organizations and public administrations to learn about and share the skills, needs and interests of technological development, thus increasing participation and collaboration in innovation projects. The goal was also to think about the changes related to the ecological and digital transition, from a community perspective“said Laura Morgagni, general secretary of the SmartCommunitiesTech Cluster.
The SmartCommunities Conference 2022 was opened by Charles Landry, inspirer of the global “creative city” movement to realize the hidden potential of cities through the combination of hardware or physical component, and software or intangible component. Charles Landry’s speech
Each thematic session was open by an introduction on the sector’s scenario
- Michele Ottomanelli, Professor of Transport at the Polytechnic of Bari and contact person of the National Center for Sustainable Mobility Michele Ottomanelli’s speech

The afternoon began with the intervention of the cultural manager Paolo Verri, former director of the strategic plan of Matera 2019 Paolo Verri’s speech
Two round tables were also held with the cities: in the first Catania, Genoa, Perugia and Turin told their experiences on “5G and emerging technologies” (video available), in the second one Brindisi, Trento and Turin talked about their approach on the subject of “Safety and liveability of public space” (video available).
